Privacy

This Privacy Policy explains how BIM&Beyond BV ("BIM Boost", "we", "us") processes personal data when you visit bimboost.com, create a BIM Boost account, use our plug-ins, contact us, or otherwise interact with us.

We process personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Dutch implementation thereof.

2. What personal data we process

We process the following categories of personal data:

2.1 Account and contact data

  • name, email address, organisation, role/function;

  • login credentials (in hashed form);

  • billing data (organisation name, address, VAT number).

2.2 Usage and technical data

  • licence key activations, plug-in version, Revit version, operating system;

  • error logs and crash reports;

  • anonymised feature usage events for product improvement.

2.3 Communication data

  • messages, support tickets, meeting notes, feedback you provide via forms, email or LinkedIn outreach replies.

2.4 Marketing data

  • newsletter subscriptions, opens and clicks, content preferences.

2.5 Website data

  • IP address, device and browser information, pages visited, referrer, cookie identifiers (see Cookie Policy).

We do not knowingly collect special categories of personal data. The Service is intended for business use and not for children.

3. Purposes and legal bases

We process personal data on the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract — to provide the Service, manage subscriptions, deliver licence keys, provide support, and process payments;

  • Legitimate interest — to secure the Service, prevent abuse, improve product quality, conduct B2B outreach to professionals whose role suggests interest in BIM/Revit tooling, and analyse usage at an aggregated level;

  • Consent — for non-essential cookies and marketing emails (where required), and for any optional features that send model content to our servers;

  • Legal obligation — to comply with tax, accounting, sanctions, and other statutory obligations.

4. Customer Data inside the Service

Where you upload, link, or process Revit models, IFC models, drawings, parameters or related project content using the Service, that content ("Customer Data") may contain personal data. In such cases BIM Boost acts as processor and the Customer acts as controller. The processing is governed by the Data Processing Agreement, which forms part of the Terms of Service.

By default, our plug-ins run locally inside Revit and do not transmit project content to our servers. Specific features that involve cloud processing or AI analysis are clearly indicated and require activation.

5. Sharing with third parties

We share personal data with the following categories of recipients, only as necessary:

  • hosting and infrastructure providers (e.g. cloud hosting, email delivery, error monitoring);

  • payment processors (for subscription payments);

  • CRM, support and analytics providers used to operate the Service and our website;

  • LinkedIn outreach and content scheduling tools used for marketing (e.g. Supergrow);

  • professional advisors (e.g. legal, accounting) under confidentiality;

  • authorities, where legally required.

We enter into data processing agreements with our processors. Where data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or another lawful transfer mechanism.

6. Retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes set out above:

  • account and subscription data — for the duration of the contract and up to 7 years thereafter (legal retention);

  • invoices and tax records — 7 years (Dutch tax law);

  • support and communication data — up to 3 years after the last interaction;

  • marketing data — until you unsubscribe or object;

  • server logs and error reports — typically up to 12 months.

7. Security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including access controls, encryption in transit, secure credential storage, regular updates, and limited access on a need-to-know basis. No system is fully secure; you are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.

8. Your rights

Subject to GDPR conditions, you have the right to:

  • access your personal data;

  • rectify inaccurate or incomplete data;

  • erase data ("right to be forgotten");

  • restrict processing or object to processing;

  • data portability;

  • withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent;

  • lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens), www.autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.

To exercise your rights, contact us at support@bimboost.nl. We may need to verify your identity.

9. Automated decision-making

We do not make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about you on the basis of solely automated processing.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version is always available at bimboost.com. Material changes will be notified by email or via the Service.
